Pulmonary Hypertension : Treatment and Recovery

Treatment of Pulmonary Hypertension depends on the basic cause which has lead to the constriction of the pulmonary artery. For example if the main problem is a failure of the heart then the course of treatment to be followed is obviously consulting a cardiologist and removing the root of the problem. In case the PAH is being caused by low levels of oxygen or hypoxia fostered by a chronic disease of the lungs the most suitable form of treatment would be treating the root cause that is the lung disease. Consulting a pulmonologist will be the best idea in this case. Similarly even problems in the skin can be the cause for Pulmonary Hypertension. When the underlying reason is a skin disease like scleroderma the appropriate course of action requires the involvement of a skin specialist. Recurrent clotting of the blood can be a possible cause for hypertension in the pulmonary artery and it is treated by anti-coagulating or thinning the blood.
